Morvarid Tavassoli, MD
Dr. Tavassoli is a fellowship-trained breast surgical oncologist specializing in the treatment of both benign and malignant breast disease. In her patient-centered approach, she believes exceptional care goes beyond the diagnosis and requires an integrative understanding of the patients’ overall health and wellness.
She spent most of her childhood in the culturally diverse environment of Orange County, California. Her experiences growing up there allowed her to develop trilingual abilities in English, Spanish and Farsi. After graduating from Stanford University with her bachelor’s degree, she received her medical degree (M.D.) at the University of California, Riverside. While completing her General Surgery Residency at Riverside University Health System, she had the opportunity to work with underserved communities living in and around Southern California. This experience is where she cultivated a deep empathy for patients facing breast cancer, which led her to pursue additional subspecialty training in breast surgical oncology at the West Cancer Center in Germantown, Tennessee. Dr. Tavassoli is certified by the American Board of Surgery, American College of Breast Surgeons, and the Society of Surgical Oncology. She has additional certifications in ultrasound and stereotactic procedures through the American College of Breast Surgeons.
In her spare time, she likes to travel with her husband, Brandon, and two cats, Cashew and Coco. She enjoys hiking, cycling, cooking, tennis, pickleball, and spending time with her family.
