M. Catherine Goodwin, MD, FACS
Dr. Goodwin is a Breast Fellowship trained surgeon who joined the Breast Center in 2011 and specializes in the treatment of benign and malignant breast diseases. She completed her medical degree at Mercer University School of Medicine in Macon, Georgia. After completing her general surgery residency at Abington Memorial Hospital in the suburbs of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, she completed her Breast Oncology fellowship at Bryn Mawr Hospital in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania.
She is board certified in general surgery by the American Board of Surgery. Dr. Goodwin is a member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons, the Society of Surgical Oncology, and a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. She is certified in Breast Ultrasound and Stereotactic Breast Procedures by the American Society of Breast Surgeons. She is certified in Hidden Scar Surgery for breast conserving surgery and nipple-sparing mastectomies.
Dr. Goodwin was named Breast Program Director for the Wellstar Breast Subcommittee effective January 1, 2019. She also serves as Breast Program Director for the OBGYN Residency Program for Kennestone Hospital.
